Kalyan Joshi is proud to carry forward the legacy of his father Shrilal Joshi a leading artist in Phad Painting who has acclaimed Padma Shree honor. As an inquisitive child Kalyan started drawing figures at the age of 8, very soon he started learning the detail part of this creative art. Kalyan Joshi has experimented with new stories, contemporary style painting and line drawing.

Phad is a cloth and wall painting that usually depicts the story of local hero-God. Phad mainly illustrates two popular epic edition of Rajasthan. Kalyan Joshi has developed his unique phad style in his drawings and he is a recipient of National Award Winner for his master creation.

Kalyan Joshi has conducted more than 200 workshops and exhibition all over India and abroad also. Kalyan Joshi is now contributing to give new dimensions to Phad Painting of Rajasthan.
